Brendan Kibbee is a native of Urbana, Illinois living in Jersey City. Brendan studied both classical and jazz piano at Rutgers University with legendary pianist Stanley Cowell and also studied improvisation and compostition with jazz luminaries Ralph Peterson, Conrad Herwig, and Ralph Bowen.
Currently, Brendan is a freelance musician around New York and New Jersey, and the leader and composer for the Jersey City based Quartet des Ombres. Brendan has been teaching piano and ensembles at The Groove Academy in Edison, New Jersey for the past seven years and combines elements of all different styles into his pedagogy.
